Concussion protocol

Any player who takes a hit to the head, or shows any sign of a concussion, comes out of the game and does not return that day. No exceptions, and no coach, parent or umpire can overrule it. The coach records what happened on the incident form and the family is told before they leave the field.

Return to play follows the state protocol: a written clearance from a doctor, then a stepwise return over at least five days that the coach signs off on. The travel director keeps the forms.
